Guy Kawasaki, the world’s foremost secular evangelist, shares the secret of focusing on evangelism now: “I don’t do things for strategic reasons… I am doing things for now.” Guy’s message is encouraging to born again Christians. We are compelled by Jesus to evangelize before it is too late.
Guy Kawasaki is a best selling author and a popular keynote speaker. Guy has worked with many high profile clients including Apple, IBM, Nike, Audi, Google, and Microsoft. Guy is currently the Chief Evangelist for Canva. Guy popularized the use of the term “evangelist” in the business world.
In a recent interview with Jon Naster on the “Hack The Entrepreneur” podcast show, Guy said, “I am 61 now. I am on 2/3 dead. The clock is ticking.” Guy continued, “I don’t do things for strategic reasons. I don’t do things for building future relationships. I am doing things for now. This is the time I am reaping. I am not sowing anymore. ”
Christians can learn a lesson from the world’s foremost secular evangelist: Do things for now. The clock is ticking for all of us. The people we see today may not be here tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation.
But according to Barna research(1), most Christians don’t evangelize. Almost half of “born again” Christian believers have not shared the gospel even once in the last year. If that sounds like you, it’s not too late.
If you are a fan of “servant evangelism”, add the biblical gospel to your serving efforts.
If you are a believer in “friendship evangelism”, share the gospel now … before it it too late.
If you are waiting for the Holy Spirit to prompt you, don’t. Take the advice of Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason: Just do it.
