Angel has been bruised and rejected. But Christ came to restore and heal sinners like Angel (and you and I). A bruised reed he will not break. He is willing to grant to her even eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Kentucky Jail MinistriesIf you would like to serve in local jail ministry, check out Kentucky Jail Ministries. They make contact with about 1000 inmates a month and serve in the Campbell, Boone and Kenton county jails.
About forty men and women visit regularly in the local jails. The volunteers teach bible studies, life skills classes and lead church services. They share the gospel biblically with everyone they meet. In addition to their jail visits, they meet together on Saturday mornings to celebrate, worship, train and pray.
I met the men and women one Saturday morning and they shared four interesting things you should know about jail ministry:

Do we count the number of people who repeat a sinner’s prayer? Do we count on baptism to save us? No, many people have professed faith in Christ or gotten baptized but they do not lead transformed lives.
Unless a person understands their sinfulness before a Holy God and truly sees the need for the Savior, they will not change their life.
So how do we do it? We guide them through the 10 commandments so they are convicted of their sinfulness and see the need to trust the Savior. And then we share the gospel.
The measure of success in one-to-one evangelism is determined by answering the following questions:
1. Did the person see their need for the Savior?
2. If so, did the true Gospel of Jesus Christ get shared?
3. Was it done respectfully using the scriptures?
Salvation is a miracle. And it the sovereign act of God. But God ordains the means as well as the ends. And He chooses to use us as the means to reach people. Our role is to be faithful as we share the gospel.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the water covers the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
