How Many Weekends Do You Have Left?

How Many Weekends Do You Have Left?

According to USA Today, if you live until age 76, you would be about average for US men. So how many weekends do you have left if you live until the age of 76?

If you are …

20 years old today – you have about 2900 weekends left.

30 years old today – you have about 2400 weekends left.

40 years old today – you have about 1900 weekends left.

50 years old today – you have about 1350 weekends left.

60 years old today – you have about 800 weekends left.

70 years old today – don’t buy any green bananas.

Warning: You are Running Out of Weekends.

People love their weekends and when they see how few they may have left, they are surprised.

Evangelist Mark Cahill uses this approach to help people confront their own mortality.

Are You Going to Heaven or Hell?

Take the Good Person Test and Find Out.

O Lord, make me know my end

and what is the measure of my days;

let me know how fleeting I am!

Psalm 39:4

How Do We Measure Evangelism Success?

How to Measure Evangelism Success

How to Measure Evangelism Success

Do we count the number of people who repeat a sinner’s prayer? Do we count on baptism to save us? No, many people have professed faith in Christ or gotten baptized but they do not lead transformed lives.

Unless a person understands their sinfulness before a Holy God and truly sees the need for the Savior, they will not change their life.

So how do we do it? We guide them through the 10 commandments so they are convicted of their sinfulness and see the need to trust the Savior. And then we share the gospel.

Three Questions to Help

The measure of success in one-to-one evangelism is determined by answering the following questions:

1. Did the person see their need for the Savior?

2. If so, did the true Gospel of Jesus Christ get shared?

3. Was it done respectfully using the scriptures?

Our Role in Evangelism

Salvation is a miracle. And it the sovereign act of God. But God ordains the means as well as the ends. And He chooses to use us as the means to reach people. Our role is to be faithful as we share the gospel.

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the water covers the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
