On June 24, 2023 we proclaimed the gospel as the Cincinnati Reds hosted 43,498 fans on Pride weekend in Cincinnati. A Cincinnati Police Officer stepped in to protect us from a trans bully. See the three minute video below.
We love our LGBT friends and pray that they would be saved. So we proclaim the truth about sin, hell and the gospel of Jesus Christ. When they push back and try to intimidate us, we lovingly continue proclaiming the truth.
Red’s Pride: Cop Steps In (3 Minute Video)
Why Do We Evangelize Cincinnati During Pride Month?
Scripture is replete with examples of men going into dangerous cities to proclaim the gospel. Paul knew what awaited him for proclaiming the gospel in Rome (Acts 2:10-16). Jesus knew there would be violence in Jerusalem (Matthew 20:17-20). We make every attempt to avoid conflict and we don’t provoke violence intentionally.
But the gospel is an offense. And we must stand and speak it in Cincinnati because we are not our own. We were bought with a price (1 Cor 6:19-20). So we follow and obey Christ … even during Pride Month.
Because pride is not the only sin that separates men from God, we proclaim all of the Ten Commandments from Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. Our focus is on sin and the gospel. LGBT pride is only one category of sexual sin.
Pray for the 43,498 Red’s fans because we know that God rescues sinners (1 Timothy 1:12-16). And we know that faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:14-17). Finally, we know that God ordains the ends as well as the means for their salvation.
And such were some of you.
But you were washed, you were sanctified,
you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:11
Gratitude for Police Officers
We understand that the Cincinnati Police are not our private security force. They have a job with specific responsibilities. But when they step in and protect us, we are grateful for their intervention. I did get an opportunity to thank the Police Officer who restrained the man in the video.
But what if this Police Officer was not there? This man was trying to intimidate me by advancing on me on a public street. What would this have led to? See our Heckler Page for more examples of people trying to stop the proclamation of the gospel.
Evangelize Cincinnati
We proclaim the gospel at local sporting venues including Reds, Bengals, and FC Cincinnati. In addition, we do one-to-one evangelism at the University of Cincinnati. And we maintain a regular presence at the local abortion clinic.
We ask for your prayers. And welcome you to come alongside and pass out tracts or other gospel literature.
