Bearcat Fans Scoff at Gospel Proclamation

October 23, 2023 by Dave Leave a Comment

Bearcat Fans Scoff at Gospel Proclamation

On October 23, 2023 the gospel was proclaimed as 38,193 fans attended the University of Cincinnati football game. Fans heard much about sin, righteousness and the coming judgement of Jesus Christ.

This interaction includes a challenge from two scoffers. And it captures many common objections to biblical gospel preaching.

We are always grateful when a heckler interrupts the gospel proclamation. It has been our experience that the crowd listens more intently and the gospel gets heard when it is challenged.

3 Minute Video: Bearcat Fans Scoff at Gospel Proclamation

We Are Racing to a Day of Judgement

None of us know the day or the hour when we will die. And the Bible says that we will face a just judge on the day of our judgement. So one of the most loving things we can do is to warn people about the judgement to come. And point them to the Savior.

Prominent new testament passages about judgement include: Acts 17:31, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Hebrews 9:27, Romans 14:12, Acts 10:42, and 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9.

Old Testament prophets also spoke about the day of the Lord. Isaiah 13:9, Jeremiah 46:10 and Ezekiel 30:3 all contain warnings. And the minor prophets are replete with references to the day of the Lord including Zechariah 14.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

2 Corinthians 5:10

Scoffers Will Scoff in the Last Days

Join us in praying for these scoffers and the 38,193 fans who may have heard the gospel. Christians in the crowd should have been encouraged to know that God is receiving glory as the gospel is preached. And God is not surprised by these scoffers.

Also, the Holy Spirit may be working to draw one or more of the unregenerate fans to himself. May God get the glory as his name is lifted up in the open air.

… scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

2 Peter 3:3-4

Reds Pride: Cop Steps In

June 26, 2023 by Dave Leave a Comment

Reds Pride: Cop Steps In

On June 24, 2023 we proclaimed the gospel as the Cincinnati Reds hosted 43,498 fans on Pride weekend in Cincinnati. A Cincinnati Police Officer stepped in to protect us from a trans bully. See the three minute video below.

We love our LGBT friends and pray that they would be saved. So we proclaim the truth about sin, hell and the gospel of Jesus Christ. When they push back and try to intimidate us, we lovingly continue proclaiming the truth.

Red’s Pride: Cop Steps In (3 Minute Video)

Why Do We Evangelize Cincinnati During Pride Month?

Scripture is replete with examples of men going into dangerous cities to proclaim the gospel. Paul knew what awaited him for proclaiming the gospel in Rome (Acts 2:10-16). Jesus knew there would be violence in Jerusalem (Matthew 20:17-20). We make every attempt to avoid conflict and we don’t provoke violence intentionally.

But the gospel is an offense. And we must stand and speak it in Cincinnati because we are not our own. We were bought with a price (1 Cor 6:19-20). So we follow and obey Christ … even during Pride Month.

Because pride is not the only sin that separates men from God, we proclaim all of the Ten Commandments from Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. Our focus is on sin and the gospel. LGBT pride is only one category of sexual sin.

Pray for the 43,498 Red’s fans because we know that God rescues sinners (1 Timothy 1:12-16). And we know that faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:14-17). Finally, we know that God ordains the ends as well as the means for their salvation.

And such were some of you.

But you were washed, you were sanctified,

you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:11

Gratitude for Police Officers

We understand that the Cincinnati Police are not our private security force. They have a job with specific responsibilities. But when they step in and protect us, we are grateful for their intervention. I did get an opportunity to thank the Police Officer who restrained the man in the video.

But what if this Police Officer was not there? This man was trying to intimidate me by advancing on me on a public street. What would this have led to? See our Heckler Page for more examples of people trying to stop the proclamation of the gospel.

Evangelize Cincinnati

We proclaim the gospel at local sporting venues including Reds, Bengals, and FC Cincinnati. In addition, we do one-to-one evangelism at the University of Cincinnati. And we maintain a regular presence at the local abortion clinic.

We ask for your prayers. And welcome you to come alongside and pass out tracts or other gospel literature.

Catholics Rage Against Gospel Proclamation

June 12, 2023 by Dave Leave a Comment

Catholics Rage Against Gospel Proclamation

Catholics rage against gospel proclamation at the Kettering, Ohio abortion clinic. Watch several intense encounters in the 3 minute video (below) from June 7,2023.

The men make multiple claims including: I am “an insult to Christianity”, “the Catholic Church gave us the Bible”, and “Mary is the mother of God”.

But we offered them the true gospel and proclaimed many scriptures that day including:

  • Worship the Son (Psalm 2:12, Luke 11:27)
  • Turn from idolatry (1 Cor 10:7, 9, Revelation 21:8, Jeremiah 44)
  • Salvation is by faith (Eph 2:8-9, Romans 10:17, Acts 10:43, Acts 8:12)
  • Scripture is God breathed (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • The sacrificial work of Jesus is finished (John 19:30, Hebrews 10:11-14)

Join us in praying for all to hear the word of Christ and trust in Him alone. We proclaim repentance and faith every day to abortion clinic mothers, fathers, workers and protestors.

Although most do not have ears to ear the gospel (Matthew 13:15) , we know that God’s word will not return empty but will accomplish the purpose for which he sends it (Isaiah 55:11).

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Psalm 2:12

Catholics Rage Against Gospel Proclamation (2:30 Video)

Catholics Rage Against Gospel Proclamation

I offer this video to edify the body of Christ. As you know, Christians are called to make disciples by proclaiming the gospel … even in challenging situations.

We Love Catholics

Because I love my Catholic friends I pray for them to be saved. Many are drawn to protesting abortion. Obviously, we are grateful for their zeal for the unborn. But we want them to know the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

And most Catholics at the abortion clinic are not like these guys. Some are willing to engage in respectful dialogue. And we rejoice that we have had some opportunities to share the gospel.

But we must proclaim the true gospel to all who believe a false gospel. And we must call them to repent before it is too late.

Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Romans 10: 1-4

Why Do We Continue When Catholics Rage?

Jesus preached many times to raging Pharisees. And he went to Jerusalem knowing what his enemies would do to him. The prophets of old proclaimed the word of God at the gates of the city knowing they would be abused. Paul faced much opposition (Acts 21-26) and was beaten many times (2 Cor 11:24). George Whitefield preached to large crowds even when they threw dead cats at him.

We too are commanded to speak before hostile crowds. Why? Because God gets the glory. And He ordains the ends as well as the means. For we know that there is joy in heaven when one sinner repents. And faith comes from hearing the true gospel. So we go and make disciples by proclaiming the gospel of Christ. We just have no way of knowing who God is drawing to himself so we proclaim the truth even in the face of opposition.

As long as Catholics are on a public sidewalk and we have free speech rights we will proclaim the true gospel and pray for God to save them. Christ’s sheep will hear his voice.

Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Jeremiah 23:29

Pray for Us

Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful.

2 Thessalonians 3: 1-3

FC Cincy Pride?

June 5, 2023 by Dave Leave a Comment

FC Cincy Pride?

On June 3, 2023 FC Cincinnati hosted Pride Presented by Proctor & Gamble. Before the game we proclaimed the simple gospel of Jesus Christ to fans. We love all FC Cincy fans and we were not there to judge or condemn them.

Why do we attend Pride events? We love our city. And weep for the sin of pride. The Bible says that on the day of judgement many will cry out to be saved from the wrath of the Lamb (Revelation 6:16). We pray that those who join in Pride events in Cincinnati would be saved from the wrath of the Lamb by repenting and putting their faith in Christ.

You see, we know that God can change hearts (Ezekiel 36:25-27) and that the gospel saves sinners (Romans 1:16-17). So we preach the gospel to fans and trust in the sovereign hand and plan of God to change their hearts.

Video: FC Cincy Pride?

But What Does God Say About Pride?

Pride goes before destruction,

and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 16:18

What Does God Say about Sexual Sin?

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Nobody Cares … But We Proclaim the Gospel

At one point, the parade leader in the video proclaims, “Nobody Cares … ” into his megaphone. But he cared enough to say something, right?

We are not discouraged. Because we preach to an audience of One. And we know that many people ARE listening. Some portion of the 25,513 fans who attended TQL Stadium heard a call to repent and believe in Christ.

Please join us in praying for fruit. For we know that God’s word will not return void.
